We have equipped our track-mounted KUKA robot with the plug-and-produce AFP system from our technology partner Addcomposites and moved it into in a larger cell in the SAM XL facility at the TU Delft Campus. High quality composite materials from Toray Advanced Composites are used to produce large parts by both Filament Winding and Automated Fibre Placement.
This is yet another platform to link our industry partners with the material, design and processing expertise at the TU Delft faculty of Aerospace Engineering. Together with the SAM XL technical team, this upgrade will set our community on track towards lighter, more cost efficient and rapidly-certifiable aerospace structures and hydrogen storage tanks!
